Ok you want to replace the old door with a new one. What about the old hardware? Should you install a door knob or a handle? What are the benefits or drawbacks with both.
First, the installation is really the same for both, so don’t make you decision based on installation.
Really the only benefit of one vs. the other would be the handle has an edge of operation. People that have trouble opening or grasping object perfer handle rather than a knob. The simple act of pulling down on the handle is is much easier than gripping and twisting of the knob.
The appearance of a knob vs. a handle is really a personal preference. So use your judgement when replacing that old door hardware.
